Grauda is Indo-france joint exercise which takes place biennially to strengthen relationship between both the countries.Further this exercise will expose IAF pilots to French fighter tactics and the French pilots to Indian fighter tactics, in addition to exposing IAF crew to air-to-air refueling and to understand basic concepts of each countries fighter operations.
Garuda-5 will take place in Jodhpur and will start on 2nd june. The air exercise will include four Rafale multirole fighter aircraft and one air refueler from france along with IAF's multirole Su-30MKI, four MiG-27 and four MiG-21 (BISON) aircraft.The previous edition of the exercise was held at Istres, France during 2010.
